To celebrate the official start of summer, this week’s LOTW is a summery all-blue outfit. I know what you’re thinking. I’m wearing black tights for a summer LOTW? What the?! Bear with me. Just because the sun is out (please remember to wear your sun cream, folks!), it doesn’t mean that each day is going to be glorious and sunny.
This morning I was awoken by the sound of heavy thunder, perhaps a touch of karma for the previous weekend of sunshine. An outfit like this is perfect for days when the weather gives you several fashion headaches.
A thin shirt (like this blue one from Gap) is perfect to wear when it’s warm and can even be worn with other items of clothing if the weather is a little cooler. Here, I’ve layered it underneath a fabulous pastel blue coat from Zara.
Ahhh, Zara. You little temptress teasing me with your multiple Goblin style tailored coats. I’ll be honest with you, when I bought it from Zara, I’d actually gone in to look for something else but my eyes were immediately drawn to this stunning coat. Considering this is my fourth Goblin style coat this year, I think it’s pretty obvious that my love for Gong Yoo and Lee Dong-Wook is still going strong!
To add a bit of a rock and roll vibe, I’m wearing a blue leather skirt from Joseph. Eat your heart out, Joan Jett!
I’ve accessorised with pieces that complement the different shades of blue in my outfit. I’m obsessed with this Balenciaga tri-colour Motorcycle City bag. I love the contrasting colours and the leather is incredibly soft. I bought it in New York several years ago and knew from the moment I saw it that I was going to buy it. I was powerless to resist. Insert your own joke about shopaholics here…
My fabulous parents bought me this Kenzo scarf for my birthday this year and I absolutely adore it. The eye pattern is modern and it’s a beautiful colour!
These Cheap Monday patent platform boots are stylish and comfortable. Yes, really. Although they’re very high, they’re surprisingly supportive. The unique jewellery is a lovely finishing touch.
How about you? What will you be wearing to cope with the changeable summer weather? I’d love to know!
