I’m slightly addicted to nail varnishes. I get so excited at Christmas and New Year because I love trying out fun and quirky nail styles. Here is a selection of my favourite festive nail varnishes…

Shatter nail varnishes aren’t new but they’re so fun to use! These two from OPI are perfect.

Using them is super simple. After applying my nail colour of choice (lilac goes well with the Silver Shatter while red looks fab with the Gold Shatter) I cover each nail in one coat of the shatter nail varnish quickly before it sets.

It’s so cool watching the shatter polish separate to reveal the colour underneath! I prefer to use a plain top coat over the shatter once it’s dry to make my nails look super glossy!

This striking red colour from Yves Rocher screams glamour à la Olivia Palermo. It’s the perfect glossy shade to wear for Christmas cocktails. Before I apply two coats of this I protect my nails from any staining with a clear base coat.

I adore using glitter nail varnishes at this time of year and this Glitter Top Coat by Funky Fingers is the perfect combination of Christmas colours. I use it over a nude nail colour. With glitter nail polishes it’s VITAL to use a clear base coat otherwise it will be an absolutely nightmare to remove.

This mini Mint Green Nail Enamel is a great budget buy! It’s a lovely colour to wear on its own or underneath the Funky Fingers glittered top coat.
