Are you looking for a soothing, multi-purpose cream that tackles skin irritation, sunburn and sore feet (random, I know but who hasn’t suffered after wearing ridiculously high heels?!)? Look no further than this Prep Derma Protective Cream.
Originally developed in the United States in the 1860’s, it’s definitely one of those cult products you need in your bathroom. Intrigued by the various uses for it, I bought a jar from Müller during a recent trip to Slovenia.
I don’t know about you but I’m drawn to beautiful product packaging. This design has a wonderful retro feel to it. If you forget what this cream can be used for, it’s handily inscribed on the lid. Perfect.
It could be the changes in weather (it’s either sunny or cold and windy where I live) that have contributed to my sensitive skin feeling a little more delicate at the moment but it’s very frustrating. Which is why I was keen to try this.
Formulated with menthol, camphor, peppermint and glycerin, this aims to tackle any irritation and protect skin. The texture is reminiscent of a cleansing balm, hard at first but soft when applied to the skin.
I’m using a small amount of this cream on any patches of irritated skin I have on my cheeks. I was initially nervous about using it because of the strong menthol scent but I needn’t have worried.
Within a matter of minutes of using this, my face feels instantly cool and less irritated. If my skin is particularly bothersome (hello, hay fever), I leave it on my skin overnight as part of my usual evening beauty routine.
It’s great value for money because a little goes a long way and it can also be used to calm insect bites and even for shaving.
