Already a fan of the Neogen Real Cica line, I was excited to review the Neogen Real Cica Micellar Cleansing Water. Kindly gifted to me during my visit to Neogen HQ, it’s quickly become a staple in my daily skin care routine.
Like many of you, I love using a cleansing oil and a cleansing foam to properly clean my skin and remove make up. That said, I still enjoy using micellar water to remove final traces of my double cleansing. Micellar water is also an ideal product to prepare skin for the next step of your daily routine.
Micellar water packed with nourishing extracts of centella asiatica
The incredibly mild formula is suitable for all skin types, particularly those with acne or sensitive skin. Like the Real Cica Micellar Cleansing Foam from the same range, this cleansing water contains centella asiatica extracts (more commonly referred to as cica), which soothe skin irritation and calm sensitive skin.
Madecassoside and madecassic acid are both found in cica and reduce inflammation and redness (oh, hi rosacea!). They’re also well-known for protecting the skin against ageing by increasing collagen levels and reducing skin damage caused by UV exposure.
There’s nothing worse than using a micellar water that strips skin while removing make up and impurities. Luckily this Neogen offering contains an impressive combination of moisture-boosting ingredients. Sodium hyaluronate prevents moisture loss and hyaluronic acid hydrates skin while also targeting facial redness and wrinkles. Ceramide is another skin care saviour to help skin retain moisture.
Allantoin restores and protects inflamed skin. Bergamot fruit oil is a handy ingredient for treating acne-prone skin, thanks to its anti-bacterial properties.
A simple way to wipe away skin impurities
I love using this cleansing water. It’s easy to control how much product I use and the large 400ml size lasts for months. After removing my make up using a cleansing oil and a cleansing foam, I apply a generous amount of it to a cotton pad and gently wipe it over my face.
Very soothing on my skin, it immediately cools the rosacea across my cheeks and reduces redness. It’s even brilliant at removing stubborn mascara if I gently press the cotton pad onto my lashes. This cleansing water doesn’t strip my skin and makes it feel clean and moisturised.
It’s impressive how quickly this Neogen cleansing water cleans my skin. Because it’s such fantastic value, I’ll definitely have to stock up on this in the future!
