I love superfoods and if they’re fused with beauty products you just know I’m going to take a keen interest. I recently had the pleasure of being invited to an exclusive Nails Inc. bloggers’ event at Fenwick Newcastle and couldn’t wait to get my hands on the new superfood range (you may already be aware of my obsession with kale from my NutriBullet post).
The evening started with drinks and kale chips, almonds and cute cakes. Along with the other bloggers, I opted for healthy matcha herbal tea and rose and matcha juice (well it was an evening about superfoods!) but there was also lovely bubbly.
We were treated to manicures (I chose the Gloucester Crescent powered by matcha shade) and saw demonstrations of the famous spray on nail varnish. Nail varnish in a paint can is SUCH a great idea! It was very interesting watching this being applied because I’d previously wondered how to use it. There’s even a fab new pale pink Mayfair Lane colour available.
The Nails Inc. regional manager, Manda, was very entertaining. In addition to giving us the lowdown on the new superfood range we exchanged views on extreme beauty, from Kylie Jenner’s lips to celebrity make up disasters. I thoroughly enjoyed the evening; it was lovely chatting to the other bloggers and the Nails Inc. staff.
As well as a fabulous selection of NailKale colours, the new range also uses other superfoods matcha, green tea, acai and spirulina. Mmm, that’s making me hungry…
Here are a few beauties from the new range…
NailKale superfood base coat, £15
Kale. Kale. Kale. In a nail varnish. OMG just doesn’t cut it! Kale is well known for its antioxidant properties so why not put it in a strengthening base coat? This one also contains aloe vera, lemon, ginseng, pomegranate and grape. Ok, I’m REALLY hungry now…
I don’t always feel like wearing nail varnish but if I don’t treat my nails with something, they’ll quite happily tear and leave me with damaged, weak nails. Not anymore. This nail treatment stimulates nail growth and offers protection against breakages and splitting (yay!) so I don’t have to worry about my nails.
Nail strengtheners can leave my nails feeling very dry but this one is nourishing and I love how shiny it makes my nails. As well as using it as a base coat, this is perfect to use on days I want to give my nails a break from nail varnish but I still want to look after them.
It can even be used a few times a week if my nails are in dire need of TLC. In just over a week I’ve already noticed how much stronger my nails are after using this. See ya later, weak and brittle nails!
Mayfair Market Mews sweet almond powered by matcha nail varnish, £14
This chic rose gold shade is luxury at its best. It’s a beautiful metallic shade that not only delivers a high shine but it’s also great at protecting my nails. Apart from silver or coloured glitter shades, I usually steer clear of metallic nail colours but I’m pleasantly surprised by how wearable this one is.
My nails have a tendency to be brittle and (unfortunately) split oh so easily unless I’m on holiday. This nail varnish is helpfully packed with matcha powder (a powerful antioxidant extracted from concentrated green tea lea powder) and sweet almond oil to nourish and protect my nails.
Nail grow treatment powered by matcha, £15
As I’ve previously mentioned, my nails can often cause me much frustration. When I’m trying to grow them, it’s like they’ll do almost anything to sabotage my plans and split constantly. I was very excited to try this matcha powder infused nail grow treatment.
It aims to encourage strong and healthy nail growth. I’ll be completely honest with you, what first drew me to this was the microbeads in it… I’m a total sucker for interesting beauty products!
Aside from looking awesome, the beads contain vitamin A and vitamin E which burst (whoo!) when applied to my nail bed. It’s certainly a bizarre way of using a nail grow treatment but I love it! To see results, ASAP, it’s best to use this twice a week.
Vitamin E oil pen, £14 (this isn’t from the new line but it’s so good for my nails I had to include it!)
My cuticles are ALWAYS dry. I’m not even kidding. I might be a little late for New Year’s Resolutions but regularly applying a cuticle oil is going to be one of them. This one has a gorgeous lavender scent and the handy pen design makes it super easy to use on the go!
