If you haven’t entered an Instagram giveaway, then you need to. Lots of my friends enter beauty giveaways and in the past I haven’t entered any because I always think I’m going to be unlucky and that someone else will win.
While browsing a few giveaways from various bloggers on Instagram one afternoon, I thought, “You know what? I’m just going to enter something and see what happens.”
I entered one and thought nothing more of it until I received a DM telling me I’d won! Oh my goodness! What a delight, I never win anything! A big thank you to Scarlett (@lobsterskin) for my goodies!
I Need You, Vita Complex Sheet Mask, Etude House
I know what you’re thinking. Winning a sheet mask really doesn’t sound like something I’d be excited about, does it? Can you detect the sarcasm?
I’m a huge fan of Etude House and have used lots of their sheet masks before but I’ve never been able to find this Vita Complex one anywhere. I’ve always wanted to try it.
The packaging is super cute! It claims to brighten up a dull appearance and promote a healthy glow.
My first thought was how yummy this smelled. The subtle fruity-peach scent is absolutely delicious!
The ‘Vita Complex’ includes niacinamide (a skin-brightening ingredient I adore that helps reduce inflammation), tocopheryl acetate (a synthetic form of vitamin E) and calcium pantothenate, which has anti-acne properties. Sounds pretty good, right?
My skin felt amazing and looked very dewy after using this (eat your heart out, Ryohei Kato!). It looked noticeably cleaner and less congested. Before I’d applied this, I could see a pesky blemish forming on my chin but it disappeared instantly with this sheet mask.
My skin was so much smoother and softer. I’ll have to stock up and buy these in bulk!
Moonlight in Spoon Blending Sleeping Cream Royal Jelly, Etude House
This is a sleeping cream you blend yourself and it was so much fun to use! My skin currently lacks a little moisture (I’m blaming the cold UK wind) and I used this a few days ago. I’m very pleased I did. It’s AWESOME!
This is no exaggeration but I woke up to unbelievably smooth skin skin after using this. It was noticeably softer and free from any dryness. It felt very plump too.
It’s very easy to use. After removing the seal, all you have to do if break off the spoon and blend the water-gel into a cream. Once it’s ready, apply with your hands and wash off with lukewarm water in the morning.
Royal Jelly is good for adding moisture to skin, perfect if your skin is dry or dehydrated. It’s also a good anti-ageing ingredient. Other ingredients include lavender, camomile and mint.
Orchid Whitening Hydromask, L’Herboflore
Impressed by the packaging and the orchid ingredient, I had high hopes for this sheet mask. However, it wasn’t meant to be.
Although I can’t fault the ingredients of aloe leaf extracts and cucumber, I think my sensitive skin must have reacted badly to something in it. When I took it off my skin was itchy and red.
I found a lot of extra essence in the packet. Usually, you do get leftover essence with sheet masks but there was so much that I couldn’t use it all in one go.
I’m disappointed this wasn’t right for my skin. I think it might be better for someone who has normal skin type.
