Mask House is EVERY beauty junkie’s idea of paradise. (Note: I’ve changed my opinion of the UK branch of Mask House since this post. Although I’ve visited the Newcastle store many times and purchased lots from them, I found the manager to be offhand and unknowledgeable about what she’s selling. I will no longer shop with them due to receiving such bad customer service. I have also now found alternative websites where I can buy Korean beauty).
Despite being fascinated with Korean skin care products I’m ashamed to say that I only recently came across Mask House during an online search for Korean beauty products. After looking at the site for a few moments my eyes were drawn to the company’s UK address: Newcastle upon Tyne! Why, that is but a short distance from me! To say I was overjoyed was DEFINITELY an understatement. I made my shopping list and headed off in search of fabulous Korean products.
I feel as though I need to emphasise how determined I was about buying a few things. The day I made my journey to Mask House it was extremely cold, windy and there was so much rain I was completely drenched by the time I got there! If that isn’t dedication I don’t know what is!
Mask House specialises in Korean skin care and cosmetics and stocks an exciting collection of established brands such as Etude House, Innisfree, Mask House and Tony Moly. Korean cosmetics are well known for their super cute appearance and innovative ingredients so it’s understandable why Korean brands are becoming increasingly popular.
As soon as I stepped into Mask House, situated on Old Eldon Square, I knew I was going to be there for a long time, there were SO many adorable products! With everything from sleeping masks to sheet masks and peach scented (and shaped!) hand cream, I was definitely spoilt for choice!
As well as shelves filled with lovely skin care products there’s a wonderful selection of make up and nail varnishes. During my visit, Mel, a lovely member of staff, was on hand to help me with any skin care queries I had. She also helped me manage my multiple shopping baskets that were overflowing (ahem… I had three but in my defence the baskets were tiny!).
It’s one of the three Mask House stores worldwide and I’m eternally grateful it’s on my doorstep! I’ll be reviewing my purchases shortly so stay tuned!
