Calling all Korean skin care lovers! Something exciting is happening on the UK High Street… T.K. Maxx now sells Korean beauty products! Yes, you read that correctly. Grab your biggest bag and stock up!
While walking down Kensington High Street in London one afternoon, I happened to spot a ‘Korean Beauty’ sign at the front of the shop. I’m sure I don’t need to tell you what happened next… Here’s a selection of the sheet masks I bought…
Baby Pet Magic Mask Sheet Whitening Seal, Holika Holika, £2.99
I. Love. This. Seriously. It’s just fantastic. First of all, how cute is the packaging?!
This sheet mask had a pleasant smell, although it might be a little overbearing if you don’t like heavily scented products. It contains niacinamide to brighten skin and mallow extracts to soothe irritated skin.
It fit my face perfectly. Sometimes sheet masks can be too big, making them tricky to apply but this was fabulous. The baby seal design is utterly adorable.
There was an immediate improvement in my skin after using this. It was noticeably dewy (eat your heart out Ryohei Kato!) and looked clean and fresh. Overall, my complexion was much brighter.
Before I used this, I had a red patch of irritated skin on my cheek which completely disappeared.
I would definitely buy it again. Everything about it is amazing. I love the novelty factor and the fact that it really works! The leftover essence was perfect to use the following morning.
Shea Butter Real Nature Mask Sheet, Nature Republic, £1.99
This mask was lovely. It aims to hydrate skin with moisturising shea butter and fruit extracts. I was initially concerned that it would be too heavy for my skin but it immediately boosted my complexion. It gave my skin an amazing glow!
There was a lot of leftover essence which kept me going for a few days. I would love to use this again!
Baby Pet Magic Mask Sheet Vitality Panda, Holika Holika, £2.99r
I love the panda design (let’s face it, who DOESN’T want to look like a cute panda?!) but unfortunately, this mask just wasn’t right for me.
Instead of leaving it on for 20 minutes, I had to remove it after 10 minutes because my face felt itchy and uncomfortable. When I removed the mask I noticed my face was red so it’s very possible that my skin reacted badly to one of the ingredients, which is a real shame.
Perhaps this is better suited to someone who doesn’t have sensitive skin. Ingredients include broccoli, kiwi extracts and salmon caviar.
