It’s part of the Beauty Junkie Code (I made that up but it sounds fun, right?) to enjoy trying new make up and skin creams. I’ve been very excited to try my latest beauty purchases, two colour correcting creams from Couleur Caramel.
Colour correcting creams are useful if you have anything you’d like to conceal. From dark shadows to hyperpigmentation, there’s definitely a place for a CC cream in our lives!
I picked these Couleur Caramel beauties up from Müller in Ljubljana, Slovenia (one of my favourite beauty shops. It’s very similar to Sephora!) but you can also buy them directly from their website. I opted for two colours: Redness Concealer No.16 and Dark Circle Concealer No. 07 in Natural Beige.
Let’s talk about the redness concealer. First of all, yes it’s green. When looking to disguise various beauty problems, we need to look at the opposite ends of the colour wheel (green concealers are great for redness and dark circles are made better with a yellow based concealer).
It’s ideal to use if you are prone to redness or rosacea. Often cream concealers are difficult to apply and can feel like they have to be dragged across your face but not with this one. It’s very creamy which makes it lovely to apply. You don’t have to worry about looking like Herman Munster, this blends into skin with ease.
I use it as the first step in my make up routine (after applying sun cream). All of the ingredients are 100% from natural origin and some of the active ingredients include organic sweet almond oil to moisturise and soften skin, olive-derived oil to leave skin smooth and supple as well as organic shea butter which is rich in natural vitamins A, E and F.
Wow, you’d expect all that from skin care products, but make up? I’m sold! I’m very impressed with the high level of coverage so I’ll definitely be buying this again!
Now on to the dark circle concealer…
Dark circles can be tell-tale sign that you haven’t had enough sleep and they’re certainly NOT SEXY (especially considering Valentine’s Day is just around the corner). This concealer aims to illuminate dark circles and even help blemishes look less prominent.
The creamy texture is lovely and unlike many concealers that can look caked on, this gives my skin a natural finish. Like the green concealer, this one also uses ingredients of 100% natural origin with the same ingredients I previously mentioned.
I use this after I’ve applied my foundation and even though my make up can often need topping up throughout the day, this concealer has serious staying power.
Couleur Caramel, £12.50 each
