Who else has been enjoying the tennis at Roland Garros this year? I always love watching The French Open. To celebrate the men’s final today, I’m sticking with a French theme with this French beauty duo.
Anti-Ageing Water Mist, Evoluderm at TK Maxx, £4.99
I regularly use water mists to help me cool down, particularly when I’m on holiday (it’s always SO hot in Croatia and Slovenia) but I’ve never tried an anti-ageing one. Until now.
Designed to moisturise skin while protecting it, this water mist is a joy to use. Made with sodium hyaluronate, which aims to help skin hold onto moisture (ideal when you’re exposed to skin-zapping air conditioning), it immediately refreshes my skin.
I keep it in my handbag and use it throughout the day, whenever my skin feels parched. It reduces any signs of dehydration. It’s also perfect to use over make-up and doesn’t smudge my foundation. Overall, I’m very impressed with this.
Dry CleanSing Foaming, Sampar at LookFantastic, £18
Although I’m obsessed with my DHC Cleansing Oil, I like to experiment with different products. I was very intrigued by this no-rinse make up remover.
Ingredients include dandelion extract, oat natura complex and minerals to tackle skin impurities and help remove stubborn waterproof make up while protecting skin against free radicals and harmful effects of the environment on our skin. It’s free from parabens and sulphates too.
This instantly transforms into a foam and is very easy to use. Apparently it’s suitable for all skin types, including sensitive skin but somehow I don’t think this was quite right for me.
Unfortunately, I’ve been unable to adjust to using this in place of my usual cleansers and micellar waters. Although you don’t need to rinse this off, I found it drying on my skin and needed use micellar water afterwards. Instead of feeling moisturised, my skin felt uncomfortable and tight.
It can be used to remove eye make-up if applied on a cotton pad first. However, I didn’t find this was effective at removing stubborn mascara like a cleansing oil. I’m disappointed this didn’t work as well as I’d hoped.
