Hands up if you think blemishes should be a thing of the past after a certain age. Unfortunately, our skin can enjoy teasing us with hormonal acne or intermittent flare-ups. Lucky us. Fortunately, the CV Young Anti-Pickel Antibacterial Pads are a lifesaver for these situations.
First of all, let me explain the name of the product. It’s made in Germany and ‘anti-pickel’ means ‘anti-pimple’.
Although I don’t suffer from acne, I’m no stranger to blemishes around my chin or jawline every so often. If I want to treat a particularly bothersome blemish, I reach for the COSRX Acne Pimple Master Patch. However, it never hurts to encourage a faster healing time, right?
The vegan-friendly formula contains acne-fighting salicylic acid, which gets deep into the layers of the skin to fight blemishes, stubborn blackheads and clean clogged pores. While alcohol denat can help salicylic acid penetrate the skin, it can be drying so the inclusion of panthenol in these pads help skin retain moisture.
I love these. I actually spotted them during my holiday to Croatia and because I’m such a fan, I stocked up in Slovenia a few months later and cleared the shelves!
Alcohol features high up on the ingredients list so these pads might not suit everyone’s skin type but my sensitive skin tolerates them very well. I’m delighted to say there’s no skin irritation. After cleansing my skin with an oil cleanser and a cleansing foam, I gently wipe one of the pre-soaked pads across my face and neck, paying more attention to any blemishes. I wait around 10 minutes and finish the rest of my routine.
If I want to stop a blemish in its tracks, I fold a pad in half and gently press it against the blemish. You know those highly irritating spots that won’t come to the surface no matter what you do? This method is perfect for reducing swelling from spots underneath the skin.
The packaging states these pads are for people aged 15-20 but considering blemishes don’t discriminate against age, I think they’re perfect for anyone with acne-prone, oily or combination skin. Granted, they’re not as good as the COSRX One Step Pimple Clear Pad but they’re still pretty amazing and exceptional value for money!
