The beginning of a new year can be a tad stressful but with a little TLC you’ll be fit to party well past New Year’s Eve! Here are my top five beauty products to look fabulous!
Colour Bug, Kevin Murphy, £14
This little beauty is perfect for parties, when I fancy doing something different with my hair but I don’t want something permanent. All I have to do is wipe the colour on and wipe it off when I’m done!
There are a few simple rules to stick to with this product. First, you need to make sure you’ve got a towel covering your shoulders before applying it in case the colour transfers to your clothes (now that would be a crying shame!). Next, a hair cream or serum should be used before using the color bug in order to make the colour intensity stronger.
I’ve seen lots of girls with platinum blonde hair using this so I was sceptical that it would work on my dark brunette locks. I was pleasantly surprised after using it for the first time! The colour is actually quite strong. I love applying it on the ends of my hair for a cool ombre look.
If you really want to make the colour last longer you can add a little hairspray! Also, don’t forget to wash your hands after using it (or be sensible and wear gloves!). Last thing? DON’T WEAR WHITE!
Beauty Effect Power Mask, Balea at dm-drogerie markt, £2.90
As you’ll probably know, Balea is a budget brand I’m very fond of. This beauty effect power mask claims to boost moisture levels with hyaluronic acid, shea butter and skin soothing vitamin E. I love how plump my skin feels after using this. Any dry patches of skin disappear and overall, my skin looks more radiant. Result!
This can be applied over the whole face (after cleansing) for 5 – 10 minutes and any remaining residue can be removed with a damp cotton pad.
Dry Instant Volumising Spray, Percy and Reed, £14
Nothing says glamour more than glossy and bouncy hair. Just ask Victoria Baker-Harber. This volumising spray works wonders in a matter of minutes!
As the name suggests, it has to be sprayed on dry hair, into the roots and underneath layers. What’s great about it is that unlike many other products than can make hair feel heavy, this one makes hair feel extremely light! It’s perfect to use as a little fix before heading out.
Narciso Rodriguez For Her Eau de Toilette 100ml, Boots, £74
I’ve been devoted to this perfume ever since I came across it on my first trip to New York. With lovely, seductive notes of vanilla, rose, peach, musk, neroli, floral osmanthus, this is definitely one to keep on the nightstand.
Heart 2 Art Travel Junkie Nail Stickers, Fing’rs at Müller, £2
I L-O-V-E these! They look amazing and they’re super easy to use. All I have to do is peel the stickers off, press each one to my nails and then seal them with a glossy top coat. Three travel junkie inspired sheets of designs are included, ranging from the Eiffel Tower to Big Ben. As a self-confessed travel junkie these are perfect for me!
