Can colouring in books really help you meditate and relieve stress?
Stress can be triggered by anything and it can affect the body in many different ways. Headaches, stomach ache, irregular sleep, psoriasis, rosacea and chest pain are all examples of what it can do to our bodies.
The new way to relieve stress is to bring out your inner artist and get creative with your pens and pencils with a colouring in book. Regardless of whether you suffer from stress or not, you can’t deny that it’s an incredibly relaxing activity.
Doodle New York City by Rob Merrett is an exciting collection of New York landscapes and typical New York things (who doesn’t want to draw the contents of a hipster’s satchel?). I could quite happily spend days colouring in The Big Apple. With everything from Central Park to NYC inspired nail art, there’s definitely something for everyone.
Secret Paris Postcards by Zoe de Las Cases is an adorable colouring book of 20 postcards of the City of Light. You know I don’t need any encouragement on anything French but these postcards are really cute.
With images of the Eiffel Tower and opulent French apartments, you’ll definitely feel inspired to colour in. It’s an extra bonus that you can send the postcards to friends when you’ve finished your masterpieces. I must admit, as soon as I saw the patisserie page I just had to start colouring in straight away!
If you’ve had a stressful day or you feel like unwinding, colouring in books are definitely a great way to relax and melt stress away. What do you think?
