Summer is here. You know what that means. It’s time for a beauty haul. My beauty boxes are (quite literally) overflowing with products but I couldn’t help but indulge in another mini beauty haul.
Here’s what I bought…
Peach and Silk Regeneration Hand Mask, Aldo Vandini at Müller, (I bought this in Ljubljana Slovenia, but you can also shop at Müller online) £1.42
I’ve never used a hand mask before and I’m looking forward to using this. Although I stick to my beauty regime religiously, I can often forget about my hands. It’s time for some TLC.
This contains peach kernel and nourishing silk protein to make hands silky smooth. It claims to work wonders on dry skin so if this works I’ll definitely have to stock up before winter!
Tinted Wonder Eye Cream, Balance Me, £10 for 5ml
Tinted eye creams are new to me so I’m super excited to try this one.The anti-ageing cream claims to eradicate fine lines and banish dark circles so I have high hopes for this.
Ingredients include cucumber seed oil to reduce any puffiness (so not a good look!), rosehip oil to boost skin renewal as well as vitamin E to protect the skin from environmental damage (this is particularly important for the skin around the eyes as it’s the thinnest part on our face). The small size makes it perfect for travelling.
Pomegranate Sleeping Capsule, Innisfree at Mask House, £2.29
I’m a huge fan of Innisfree and sleeping masks so it was a win-win situation with this capsule. First of all, how cute is the packaging?! I love it.
This works like other sleeping masks (after using a cleanser and toner) and needs to be washed off with warm water in the morning. I estimate that I’ll get at least two applications from this capsule.
It contains pomegranate to boost skin’s elasticity and (rather strangely) oxygen bubbles to keep skin looking and feeling firm. When the oxygen bubbles start to form, the product needs to be massaged into the skin.
Ingredients include extracts of fig, green tea, camellia leaf, liquorice as well as water-soluble collagen to boost skin.
Compact Face Powder in Natural Beige, Terra Naturi at Müller, £2.80
Although it’s true that I adore the dewy Korean look, I still like to have a compact powder in my bag. There’s a difference between dewy and just looking greasy you know.
It’s vegan and free from synthetic preservatives. It’s ideal to fix make up and eliminate shiny patches. Ingredients include organic apricot kernel oil and aloe leaf extract so it’s promising in terms of natural ingredients. However, I’m less keen on one of the other ingredients, talc.
I’ve been reading a lot of negative things online about why talc should be avoided. Environmental Working Group’s (EWG) Skin Deep database (which rates cosmetic ingredients) states that talc can be mixed with aluminium silicate or contaminated with asbestos, making it a possible carcinogen (cancer causing). I’ll seriously think about buying this powder again.
