Vintage clothing in the heart of Newcastle with a wide range of fashion items ranging from the 60s to the 90s? Yes, please!
There really is no better way to shop for vintage fashion that buying vintage clothes by the kilo. Having been in other cities such as Oxford, Cambridge, Birmingham, Brighton and Manchester, Vintage Worth the Weight vintage clothing kilo sale recently made its way to Newcastle.
Vintage Worth the Weight is a fantastic vintage kilo sale with thousands of vintage items including retro coats, dresses, trousers, jumpers, shirts, and denim jackets. It’s the perfect budget-friendly way to update your wardrobe. Each kilo you have costs a mere £15, so that’s roughly five items for a low price – bargain!
The beauty of buying vintage clothes by the kilo is that you can browse the rails, find what you like and put your items into the bag provided. Once you’ve finished, simply weight it and pay for your goodies. Side note: Of course my selection weight more than one kg… much like every suitcase I pack!
With a ridiculously low entrance fee of £1.50 after 12pm, the recent Newcastle Vintage Worth the Weight vintage clothing sale was a treat for anyone with an eye for vintage fashion. Granted, I expected to find myself surrounded by Edie Sedgwick style dresses and Cher Horowitz style checked skirts (which sadly didn’t happen) but I still managed to find a few fashion treats.
There were endless rails of flannel shirts for Kurt Cobain fans, oversized leather jackets, suede coats, shirts from the 70s, bold patterned dresses, leather handbags, bright coloured sunglasses as well as fitted skirts.
My eyes were drawn to a beautiful navy leather skirt, two Egyptian dresses and a pink denim sleeveless jacket. I was immediately reminded of my trip to Japan with the sheer red blouse and lilac cover up. I guess there’ll always be an element of Harajuku style in my wardrobe!
