With the current heatwave in the UK, it’s never been more important to take care of our skin in the sun. As well as the copious amounts of sun cream and protective sunglasses, what else can we do to shield our skin from harsh UV rays?
That’s where UV clothing comes in. If you’re not familiar with it, prepare to be amazed. You may know that sun care is a subject that fascinates me and I’m always keen to stock up on supplies.
I’m going to Japan and Dubai in November so I’m making sure I have sufficient UV clothing for my trip. As someone who’s pretty much permanently in the shade when it’s hot, I’m going to make sure I’m safe in the sunny Dubai temperatures (FYI: November temperatures in Dubai average at approximately 30°C… oh my!)
As ever, Japan has been at the forefront of sun protection for years. Japanese clothing brand Uniqlo sells UV hoodies in a variety of colours. You’d better believe I bought a few colours.
They’re great. Surprisingly stylish for UV clothing, they’re very comfortable too. Made from Uniqlo’s signature AIRism mesh fabric, it keeps skin cool with the dry technology. Extra kudos for the thumbholes to cover my hands from the sun.
They’ve been reduced since I bought mine, so grab one before they go!
Uniqlo, £19.90 (currently on sale for £9.90)
