IT’S FREEZING in the UK at the moment so for this week’s Look of the Week I thought I’d take inspiration from my cold surroundings and wrap up warm in a big fluffy coat. Note: I don’t do cold weather at all so I think I did quite well to not include my hot water bottle in this photo shoot. What do you think?
Getting back to the coat. Sure, I might look a tiny bit like an extra from Sesame Street but it’s so wonderful and fluffy! It’s super warm too, which comes in very handy when the temperature drops (as it has done across the UK recently). It looks lovely with anything from jeans (like my trusty black J Brand pair) to denim shorts and tights.
Before you say anything… I know my name isn’t Jane but this grey Zara jumper is so fab I could hardly leave it in the shop could I? I’ve teamed it with a striped shirt for a chic contrast.
I’ve finished off my look with a few black accessories. Here, I’m wearing a simple pair of earrings, black wedge ankle boots and a wonderful Karl Lagerfeld bag. You may already know from my previous posts that I adore Mr Lagerfeld and this beautiful handbag is one of my favourites.
It’s made from saffiano leather which makes it perfect to use if you have to endure changeable weather (seriously, what’s up with that? Stop raining already!). I love the chain detailing and it’s big enough to hold all of my essentials. Although the boots look high, they are very warm AND comfortable. My feet are pretty much frozen throughout winter so I’m extremely grateful for the padded interior in these boots.
Ok, I know I’ve just said I’ve gone for all black accessories but that was a blatant lie. Sorry. I mean have you SEEN my gloves? I couldn’t help but be inspired by the late David Bowie and pay tribute with these silver gloves. Annoyingly I’ll never look quite as cool as him though. Ever. I can only dream…
I’d love to know what you’re wearing to keep warm this winter!
