I make no secret of my love for the Korean drama Goblin so it made perfect sense to wear an outfit inspired by the popular K-drama during my trip to Seoul. Sure, Goblin ended in 2017 but that hasn’t stopped it being a constant style inspiration to fashion fans. Including me.
In true keeping with the fashion choices of Gong Yoo’s Goblin character and Lee Dong-Wook’s Grim Reaper, I opted for a tailored coat (or Goblin coats as I like to call them) in vibrant cobalt blue. It’s the perfect shade for spring and wouldn’t be out of place in the Goblin on set wardrobe. I bought it from Zara a few years ago, which proves you don’t need to blow your budget to dress like the cast of Goblin… it’s a K-drama miracle!
It seems rather fitting that I managed to find one of the filming locations for Goblin while wearing this outfit… the Deoksugung Palace Stonewall Walkway!
If you follow me on Instagram or read my blog, you’ll know I’m obsessed with UPF and UV clothing and accessories. I also love lilac clothing and I adore this lilac UV cut top from Uniqlo that offers UPF 40 protection. You may recall I already own a few of the other colours! I love that it has protective sleeves to shield my hands from the sun (handy if I’m ever without my favourite UPF 50+ gloves).
As well as being a super cute addition to my spring/summer wardrobe, this UV protection jacket is lightweight so it’s a dream to travel with. See, I can be practical when packing a suitcase.
I layered a white t-shirt emblazoned with a fun neon green shopping design underneath. My beloved ripped jeans from Zara are a staple in my wardrobe. Ripped jeans never go out of style and I love the paint splatter detailing. I went to art school, y’know. True story.
For accessories, I added a modern black graphic design necklace from COS to contrast the bold colours in the rest of my outfit. You may find it shocking to believe but I don’t always wear gravity-defying footwear, particularly when I’m on the go. Being on my feet a lot in South Korea meant I obviously needed to wear stylish shoes for travelling.
These FitFlop Uberknit trainers are a dream to wear. They’re lightweight, have a soft cushioned and anti-slip sole (perfect for me because I’m quite clumsy!). If you haven’t discovered the joy of FitFlop shoes, I highly recommend them. Let’s face it, who wants to be on their feet all day in uncomfortable footwear?
I finished my outfit with my favourite backpack from the Erdem x H&M collection. Not only is it super stylish but it also has supportive straps and is a great size! Perfect for carrying my Korean beauty shopping (stay tuned to the blog to discover where I shopped for K-beauty)! It means I can finally stop worrying about what size backpack I need to take with me when I’m travelling.
