If you visit Japan without stopping by Uniqlo and indulging in a fabulous Japan Uniqlo haul or two, trust me, you’ll regret it. Uniqlo is a haven for fashion fans around the world and it isn’t hard to see why. The iconic fashion styles at Uniqlo are the perfect addition to any wardrobe.
A shopping experience in Uniqlo Ginza is truly the stuff of dreams. The impressive Uniqlo Japanese flagship store opened in Ginza in 2012 and is sprawled across 12 floors. If you visit the magnificent store, you’ll notice the futuristic LED installations, which are intertwined with a rainbow selection of Japanese casualwear.
You know me, I love nothing more than indulging in a haul or two, so I jumped at the chance for a Japan Uniqlo haul. Uniqlo sells everything from UV clothing, sunglasses and Heattech clothing. I could hardly walk by the largest Uniqlo store in Japan without popping in, could I?
What’s in my Japan Uniqlo haul?
Ultra Light Down Vest (in purple and black)
What better way to keep the cold at bay than with a quilted vest? Made from nylon with a filling of 90% down and 10% feathers, these vests are perfect to layer over a top or jumper when the temperature drops.
They’re extremely comfortable and look super stylish. Designed to be lightweight, they even come with their own carry pouch, so you can carry one in your bag with ease; another bonus for us gals that carry way too much in their bag.
When the weather gets a little warmer, I’ll wear an Ultra Light Down Vest with a tailored coat (which I rather affectionately call Goblin coats) for Gong Yoo inspired style.
Airism Camisole (in light purple and navy) and Airism Camisole, Sleeveless Top (in navy)
The self-deodorising Airism fabric of these camisoles helps keep skin clean and fresh whatever the weather. They regularly sell-out during the summer months, I snapped up the chance to stock up in Japan. The lightweight design of these camisoles and sleeveless tops makes them perfect to layer underneath a t-shirt or jumper. They have a super smooth surface so won’t show through your outer layers.
Heattech Camisole, Sleeveless Top (in black and white)
As someone who’s permanently cold, I couldn’t survive during winter without Uniqlo’s Heattech Camisoles. You might think that’s an exaggeration but believe me, they’re that good. Made from their signature Heattech material, which helps insulate the skin, these lightweight tops are ideal to layer underneath a jumper or shirt.
Heattech Leggings (in black)
As we’ve already established, I’m always cold, hence why I welcome any item of clothing from Uniqlo’s Heattech range. These leggings are perfect for those days you want to wear a tunic but can’t bear to go without tights. Trust me, living in the UK, I have plenty of days like that.
Designed with bio-warming and insulating material, these can be worn with flat boots during cold weather and with trainers in the summer. If you’re really feeling the chill, you can even layer them underneath a pair of baggy trousers, as I did during my trip to Hakone, Japan. What a lifesaver they were!
Flannel Check Long Sleeve Shirt
Along with Breton tops, I can’t stop buying flannel shirts. They’re the perfect addition to any wardrobe and incredibly versatile to wear. This shirt is super soft and has a brushed surface for an extra luxurious touch. It’s perfect to layer underneath a chunky jumper in cold weather and can be worn with jeans during the summer for a chic off-duty look.
Ribbed Top (in red)
Ok, so I didn’t have this top on my Japan Uniqlo haul shopping list but it was too cute to not buy. Made from super soft cotton in a stunning berry red shade, it’s ideal to wear with jeans or tucked into a high waisted skirt for a chic preppy look. Think Blair Waldorf meets Mindy Kaling. I love it!
Cotton Jumper (in camel)
I absolutely refuse to venture out in the cold without a warm jumper. I just can’t do it. A new addition to the Uniqlo family, this jumper can be layered underneath a quilted coat in colder weather or worn on its own in warmer months. The classic camel colour makes it a truly classic piece for any wardrobe.
Ultra Light Down Compact Coat (in black)
I’ve had my eye on this quilted coat for years and was thrilled to buy it as part of my Japan Uniqlo haul. Don’t be fooled by its lightweight design, though. This coat is seriously warm and looks chic over a jumper and a Uniqlo Ultra Light Down Vest for extra warmth.
Expertly crafted from nylon, 90% down and 10% feathers, this coat folds away into a compact size and comes with its own bag, making it a suitcase staple. The slim cut is super flattering and it looks lovely with a fitted skirt and platforms shoes.
Ultra Light Down Seamless Parka (in purple)
As someone who regularly overpacks for long holidays, you have no idea how much of a blessing this parka is. Made of 90% down and 10% feathers, this bestselling Uniqlo parka is the perfect travel companion. It’s incredibly lightweight and packs down to a compact size.
Do you like Uniqlo? I’d love to know what your favourite Uniqlo pieces are!
