Much like Blair Waldorf (who else misses Gossip Girl?), I’m rather fond of wearing headbands. They look so smart and chic. My latest purchase, a worry dolls headband is quirky and cool. Think Zooey Deschanel meets Cher Horowitz.
I was instantly drawn to this because a) I love headbands and b) the colours are eye-catching. I picked it up in York from Shared Earth, a small shop that specialises in ethical and fair trade products.
Worry dolls (also called trouble dolls) are miniature dolls usually made in Guatemala. Traditionally, they are used as a remedy for worrying and this practice is deep in Mayan legend. The dolls are also said to aid those who have restless sleep when the dolls are placed under their pillow. Once the doll is there, any worries are said to vanish.
In addition to the traditional use for worry dolls, I think this headband is a fun and colourful accessory. To really make this stand out I’ll wear it with my down for a nice contrast. Are there any fashion accessories you love wearing?
