I like shoes. If I’m not buying a pair I’m looking at them or daydreaming about owning Alexander McQueen’s Armadillo shoes one day. I’m pretty positive it’s going to happen. Ok, maybe not but a girl can dream can’t she?
I can’t explain why I love shoes so much. They have the ability to completely transform an outfit and they’re an easy accessory to buy. How many times have we all deliberated on buying a new handbag but snap up a pair of new shoes faster than you can say “Do you have them in another colour?”.
While on holiday in Split something T-E-R-R-I-B-L-E happened. Ok, so maybe not as awful as missing my flight (now that would be a reason for tears). I… I… I bought six pairs of shoes! All in seven days, five of them within 24 hours. That’s a new low even for me!
I had the best of intentions to merely buy another pair of Startas canvas trainers after buying a pair last year. One thing led to another (or should I say one shop led to another) and I now find myself with six more pairs of shoes. Here’s what I bought…
First, three pairs of Startas shoes in three different designs. The navy blue pair have beautiful yellow ribbons for laces and optional navy and glitter bow ties. C’est chic, non?
You know I love stripes so I felt compelled to buy this striped pair. The third pair are a limited edition design featuring the logo of the local football team in Split, Hajduk Split. Seeing as I was on holiday in there it would have been rude not to support the local team!

I couldn’t indulge in shoe retail therapy without buying a pair of heels could I? This red, white and blue pair are handmade from Spain.

It was love at first sight with these beauties. I love the Chanel style modern tweed and of course the touches of silver is oh so appealing!
Wish, available at Shoe Box, Croatia
The rainbow colours of these ones are wonderful. When I tried them on I couldn’t believe how comfortable they were. They’re ideal to wear with black trousers if I fancy adding a touch of colour.

Note: Although I already had five pairs of shoes with me and I purchased the above designs (leaving me with a grand total of 11) my suitcase was for the FIRST time EVER under the baggage allowance. If that doesn’t deserve a tray of macarons I don’t know what does!
