I stumbled across Streaky Gin with a friend during one of our many visits to Whole Foods in High Street Kensington (I just can’t seem to stay away from there, I’m slightly addicted to their quinoa salads).
Back to the bar…
Streaky Gin fuses English and American charm to create something unique in the heart of London. What struck me first was the size of the bar. It’s very small and is reminiscent of something you’d see in someone’s home. The bold interior design is fun and OTT, who doesn’t want to see an oversized light up gin sign? The unique glass bottle chandelier is certainly a talking point!
The bar has a homely feel, you can relax on the sofas while sipping your drinks or sit outside and take in the sights of bustling London. Located just a short walking distance to Hyde Park and Kensington Palace, there’s plenty to do in the area.
I opted for the classic Aviation cocktail. Made with gin, maraschino liqueur, crème de violette and lemon juice, it was truly delicious! The staff were helpful and friendly which added to the relaxing ambience. It was fascinating watching the mixologists at work.
Although we sat inside in the entry floor room, there’s an additional seating area downstairs, which sounds perfect for entertaining. This area includes a private cinema screen. Ladies and gentlemen, I think I have found my venue for an impromptu French film marathon!
