When you connect with people who share your passion (or obsession, depending on how you look at it) for sheet masks and Asian beauty products, you know you’re experiencing something special. I recently had the pleasure of meeting a wonderful group of fellow beauty junkies for an Asian beauty meet up in Leeds. It was just as magical as it sounds.
We’ve bonded on Instagram and although it was an extremely chilly day in Leeds, it was lovely to finally meet everyone. People travelled from different parts of the UK to share their enthusiasm for beauty products over cocktails. Sounds like the perfect weekend, doesn’t it?
Some of us met for brunch at Byron Hamburgers before heading to the main event at Mans Market, where Charlotte and Zarah (who organised everything with superb attention to detail) warmly welcomed us.
Mans Market is a delightful Chinese bar and restaurant that serves wonderful cocktails (one was even served in a takeaway style box!). The atmosphere was lovely and relaxed. We enjoyed cocktails and nibbles while exchanging reviews on various beauty products. Absolute perfection. Shout out to Dee who wowed us her delightful Diorsnow cushion compact foundation. I might have to put that on my wish list…
Charlotte and Zarah surprised everyone by secretly arranging a giveaway. How exciting! I was thrilled when my name was called out first. I’m the lucky recipient of the Extreme Micro-Lifting Cream with Ageversal Cream by Dr Wu (worth a whopping £70!). It’s a funny coincidence that a Slovene address is also listed on the box!
My fellow Korean beauty addict/TK Maxx partner in crime commented, “Well, that will help Michelle with her no buy!” (FYI: I’m currently on a no buy month. I’m doing well, but I’m only on day eight and it’s reaaaaalllly dragging!)
On to the goodie bags… oh my god… the goodie bags! I’ve always been desperate to try Whamisa products and was thrilled to find a full-sized bottle of one of their best-selling toners and a beautiful hand cream. Other treats included a fabulous selection of sheet masks from Beaut East Sphere (including a cyberman-tastic foil mask from Make P:rem), Buttermilk Skincare and Kultfinds as well as an exclusive gel mask sample from Mooni Mask. I can’t wait to try everything!
Some of the group also exchanged beauty products or paid for items others had purchased for them. Taking one or two selfies was also an essential part of the day! Obviously…
Charlotte, Jay, Maree, Sarah, Zarah and I stayed a bit later for drinks at The Botanist. I thoroughly enjoyed the meet up and I look forward to the next one!
A huge thank you to the event sponsors, Beaut East Sphere, Buttermilk Skincare, Kultfinds, Mooni Mask and Whamisa, Buttermilk SkincareBeaut East Sphere for the wonderful goodie bags.
